General Update

Wow, it’s been six months since I posted anything on my blog—bad blogger!—but it’s been the craziest half-year in a long time. First of all, I’ve relocated across the country to that film and TV mecca Los Angeles. (Actually, I’m in Glendale, just northeast of Hollywood. “Swimming pools… no movie stars.”) Funny, when I was a kid, I always pictured myself living here. If you’ve never really experienced L.A., put it on your bucket list. It’s fantastic! Also, after an insanely hectic Fall/Winter with not one but two theatrical productions going up in New York, I needed a break from that intense workload to recharge my batteries and (as you might guess) figure out some complicated and stressful life changes. But this blog is for my professional activities, so here’s the latest on my key projects:

  • Two Point Oh : I’m happy to report that Two Point Oh has been published by Playscripts, Inc. and is receiving its first collegiate production this November at Muskingum University in Ohio. Discussions for other potential productions are ongoing.
  • Love In The Middle Ages, after two sold out runs, is currently on hiatus while the producers and creative team develop a strategy for taking it to the next level.
  • Daemon_9 is the primary focus of my energies right now. Before moving west, I directed a very successful video shoot of a key segment of the story in New Jersey. We shot for five days in June and worked with a talented cast of local theater veterans including Eric Rolland, Frank Blaeuer, Zachary Catron, Howard Fischer, Jeff Knapp, Gloria Lamoureaux, Dale Monroe, Ruth Morley and Chris Mortenson. My crew was dynamite, too: Adam Chinoy (lights), Mark Mandler (sound), Kelly Budd (makeup/hair), Lisa Forst of Monster In My Closet (FX makeup), and Steve Catron (PA). I’m taking a short break at this moment from editing this segment to write this blog post and hope to post a preview of it within a week or two. I hope to launch the finished product before the end of the year.

Until then, I’ll leave you all with a pic of my new apartment and my new roommates, Mickey and Grace.

Thanks for reading!
